Well, obviously updating my journal has taken a second seat to all else I have to do here! (Right now, that is not a lot!!)
Within the first (10) days here, I found a 1996 diesel Land Rover Discovery that found its original home in England.
Compared to my little 2-seater in LA, this is quite the tank. It is perfect for the steep terrain and will provide ample room
to pick up guests at the airport or ferry.  I tend to let Jeremy do most of the driving though as driving on the left in a
backwards car on the narrow roads with gutters and / or steep cliffs on both sides of the road.  We have taken the tank
over by ferry, to St Vincent several times (where I actually bought it from…). One trip was along the Atlantic Coast, by
black sand beaches and then into the interior “Mesopotamia Valley” which is lush tropical beauty.  Just last week we
ventured up the Leeward Coast by rainforests, frequent stops at rum bars for cheap beers and beautiful little beach
villages en route to Wallilabou – now known for the filming location of Pirates of the Caribbean – true Hollywood left
behind the fiberglass covered pier and stage set from much of the land scenes. It was pouring rain so we ducked into
the local bar/restaurant and had one of the best local lunches I have had to date here.  The big news around town has
been the “new market” on St Vincent, so we try to load up at “Aunt Jobe’s” whenever we have the car over there.  Not
quite Von’s but a close second to an American grocery store (…remember everything is relative!!)
