24 MARCH 2006

Hello to those of you checking in on my journal! So I have not quite maintained the weekly updates, but seeing
I am on island time, no worries!

Late January brought the Bequia Music Festival, a three day event of great music. This is an annual event
which is an off shoot to the more publicized Mustique Blues Festival…our friends Jan & Louie were
instrumental in the planning and organization, not to mention adding their own musical talents to the event.

Early February, Jeremy & I planned another weekender to St Lucia – thanks to Jeremy’s winnings at pool with
Bob, we ended up cashing in some of his winnings for flights on Bob’s plane (see website for photo!) to &
from St Lucia. Friday night we attended a great annual party thrown by Carney & Sharon – lots of fun & as
always, I met many people.  Saturday I went shopping while Jeremy played in a golf tournament then we
attended the annual Governor General’s Wine & Cheese Gala – an amazing event at the Governor’s
mansion, catered by many of the top restaurants, wine & liquor distributors, etc. Aside from a few intermittent
rain showers, it was a gorgeous evening under the stars!  Sunday I was to go horse back riding while Jeremy,
yes, golfed again.  But with a morning down pour, I decided it would be more muddy than fun! I joined up with
the golf clan for their after play luncheon at one of the club’s members’ beautiful cliff top homes. Followed by
an early evening at the yacht club, we then had our ritual Indian dinner at Razzmatazz on Rodney Bay (most
awesome ‘real’ Indian food versus Caribbean curries!)  Monday morning we headed to the airport for our trip
back to Bequia.  As much fun as sailing is, the 11 hour sail was out weighed BIG TIME by the 35 minute flight!

Then Valentine’s Day rolled around… a late morning at home when I heard a vehicle pull up the drive way and
a voice call my name.  I went out on the deck to be greeted by my carpenter, Autry, handing me an adorable
fluffy little black and brown puppy with a “Happy Valentine’s Day!”.  Having lost the previous puppy I had
adopted back in November, Autry had said I could have one of his dog’s puppies when it was weaned – well,
I never even thought to check back with him as to when they were born!  Now here I was holding this precious
8-9 week old little guy!  An hour later (literally!!) the phone rang and my friend Sarah who had a puppy show
up on her doorstep a couple weeks prior, which I said I would take, but it then disappeared, informed me the
puppy showed up & they had it at the pottery studio, could I come get it within a couple hours?!  OK, so much
for a romantic Valentine’s Day…we were suddenly parents to two little island puppies!  What do we do with
them now??!! Longer story a bit shorter – despite the new puppy (10-12 week old female) showing a great
deal of aggression toward the little guy, and our attempting to return her to the Pottery, through my tears in
having to give her up, we ended up keeping them both and they are now best of friends! See the website
page / contact us to see a photo of Saffron & Razmataz (yes, named after the Indian restaurant!).  They are so
precious.  Growing VERY fast. AND lots of work!! I love them immensely, though and they are already
learning to be watch ‘puppies’!

I joined the Bequia Sailing Club, the organization that puts on the Bequia Easter Regatta.  We are busy
selling merchandise to raise funds for the budget, aside from our sponsors’ donations. Then I will be on the
race committee boat for the sailing races and help out with the preparation for prize giving on the last day.  It
is one of the biggest tourism events on the island and much fun to be a part of. The event is always the
Thursday to Monday of Easter – so put it on your calendar for next year!

Although a slow start due to scheduling the court, I have started back playing tennis.  My friend Jill and I are
eager to ‘get back out there’ so hopefully will be getting onto a regular schedule as ‘the season’ winds down.

The GYM at AQUA on Bequia is 98% ready to go – a bit more clean up and printer cartridges delivered (they
have NO Dell cartridges ANYWHERE on St Vincent!!) to print out the flyers & release of liability forms (I know
– how LA??!!) and it will be up and running! Yeah!!

Another activity I (AND Jeremy!!) have been pursuing is throwing pottery at the one and only Spring Pottery
Studio…lots of fun and lots to learn!  Cathy Mao – I have told them about your fabulous work and I think you
should come as a guest artisan!

Big news – I now have an official post office box! (also on the web site contact page)
                             Lisa Hunnicutt
                             PO Box 280
                             Port Elizabeth, Bequia
St Vincent & the Grenadines  BWI

The other big news – as you have seen to get here, is the website! Great thanks to Jeremy for his technical &
creative support and patience with my technology ignorance!!  Please provide your constructive criticism –
we DO appreciate it, as we only want it to get better!

March 28th rings in one year since Jeremy and I met! WOW! We are both happily surprised!

Now that you can see what Bequia & AQUA is all about via the website – COME STAY!! Bookings are
starting to fill in for next year, so get your reservations in early!!

Until the next time, take care and much love to everyone – I miss my friends immensely!!
Xoxo
Lisa
